ISO 45001 Legislation Update

For those of you that are interested the SHP has issued a downloadable booklet on ISO 45001 which is the latest help and guidance. ISO 45001 is an ISO standard for management systems of occupational health and safety, published in March 2018. The goal of ISO 45001 is the reduction of occupational injuries and diseases
The SHP guidance provides practical guidance for employers and health and safety professionals. David Parr, who is the British Safety Councils head of audit sates that "we should not underestimate the significance of ISO 45001, as it will eventually replace up to 24 different standards across the globe. It provides a real opportunity for the profile of health and safety to be enhanced across organisations in any sector".
