We have recently heard from Stephen Wright, HSE Construction Policy, stating that the HSC have agreed to his planned revision of the CDM and CHSW regulations. The ambitious aim is to publish a consultative document next Spring. 'If we are to make an impact and avoid the problems that have dogged CDM then the way we proceed is at least as important as the final product' says Stephen. The full text of his communication is available on our web site. You can be assured that Stephen's presentation at Bletchley Park on 9 October will not only include the latest issues under discussion but also an opportunity to put questions to him.
HSE have asked us to help them seek the views of duty holders on progress of the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulation 4, the Duty to Manage Asbestos. As you may be aware the Government gave a commitment during the House of Lords debate in December 2002 to review the new duty by the end of this year. HSE has prepared a short questionnaire for those who are duty holders. If you or your colleagues are likely to be involved, please see the details available via our web site.
Our Health & Safety Seminar at Bletchley Park is already very well subscribed. Key speaker Stephen Wright, HSE Construction Policy, will be briefing attendees on the latest information about the CDM regulations and their planned revision (as above). Our partners will be there to brief you on some important asbestos management related matters. So there is something there for everyone. There is a full brief on the presentations for this event on our web site.
The seminar costs £95 plus VAT per attendee (with a discount for ToolKit™ users) and includes a buffet lunch, refreshments and an option tour of the world famous Bletchley Park. Attendees in the past have found this a really value packed event and many continue to come back again and again. Please book on line or call us direct. Payment has to be in advance and we accept credit card payments for this event.
We are about 4 weeks away from releasing the next major revision of our Asbestos and CDM management software, ToolKit CS™. We have revised and improved many of the routines over the summer months and the new release will, we feel sure, pack an impressive punch for those seeking a management package for either or both of the subject regulations. You can download data sheets from our web site for more information.
We will be demonstrating the product at a free, open, session on Tuesday 28th October at Leighton Buzzard. Attendees will be offered a special deal for upgrading or purchasing new as appropriate. Please let us know if you would like to attend.
Please review our web pages or call us for more information on our CDM and Asbestos Management products. We have included a link to a very interesting report from the Yorkshire Post that highlights recent asbestos cases. We have also recently introduced two new data sheets for our ToolKit CS™ Asbestos and ToolKit CS™ CDM software products. They are available as PDF file downloads from our web site or as printed copies.
