Please note that you should sign up using the screens provided. cdmUK.com is however for use free of charge to all CDM ToolKit 2000 users for a limited period. Please see the online tariff section, which will tell you the terms. We very much want all our users to sign up and use the system so that they can start gaining the benefits of our new 'CDM community communications' service.
We are privileged to be using the HSE Working Well Together conference in London as the public launch of our new cdmUK.com enterprise. cdmUK.com is jointly sponsoring the 'Communications Award' with Mouchel Consulting Ltd. By all accounts this award has been one of the most heavily contested for and we are looking forward to a lively evening at the awards ceremony on the 17th.
As many of our users know, the new cdmUK.com environment provides many opportunities to work together. The provision of 'Services' in addition to the software written by us has been under discussion for some time. Mouchel Consulting are intending to manage the provision of Planning Supervisors for anyone wanting this important aspect of our online offering. Over the months, we have been working with Mouchel Consulting and Barton Willmore Project Management Services. They each plan to become an intrinsic part of our online service.
We have many other opportunities to supply services to our new CDM community and are looking to see how we are going to fulfil them. This would be an excellent time to contact us if you are interested in joining us as providers.
Service Release 5 will soon be shipped to all the CDM ToolKit customers who have current contracts with us. The Service Release contains several changes or modifications, which regular users will readily see. In addition, SR5 includes the new, free, Web Publish Option that allows any user to 'Publish' a project to the new Internet based CDM ToolKit Online. This means that anyone with access can view project details, add information to the project bulletin board and down load documents for information or use.
Our recent User Forum was one of our best attended, with attendees wanting to know all about our product development and the proposed ACoP Revisions. Stephen Wright the policy section head at HSE responsible for the Revised ACoP consultative document gave his own analysis of the proposed new document and referenced the changed definition of a Designer that is now law.
Stephen made some interesting comments about the Internet being there to 'help us all' and 'to stifle bureaucracy'. He stated that the 'accident statistics were looking bad' and that 'we must all turn those concerns into action'. With 1.8million people now employed in the construction industry, he saw cdmUK.com as part of the evolutionary solution required.
Please see the following links for copies of the presentations:
Please see cdmUK.com for our Analysis of the ACoP Revisions and a reference to the newly defined Role of Designer.
For those of you who like to plan-ahead, here are the year 2001 User Forum dates:
