Current fire legislation requires that almost all workplaces undertake a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment and that the responsible person takes steps to protect the safety of occupants, visitors and those in the immediate vicinity. This covers issues such as; who is responsible for ensuring compliance, their legal obligations, the necessity for fire risk assessments, ensuring the assessment is undertaken by a competent person and how to tell if your assessor is competent?
