Introduction

Liverpool City Council approached Ai Solutions as they were in need of a better way of managing their asbestos portfolio. Being a council they had specific duties under the CAR12 regulations and, being a responsible client, they were looking for a solutions to fulfill their role and ensure their compliance.

Liverpool City Council Objectives

The main objective was to ensure compliance for their organisation. Additionally they wanted to have 24/7 access to the system so that operatives, contractors and council staff had access to up-to-date ACM data whenever needed. They also wanted peace of mind, knowing their data was completely current and was regularly backed up. Finally the system has to always be inline with the latest regulations at all times, this was paramount as they wanted to ensure that they were always in line with any changes to the asbestos regulations.

Implementation

Liverpool wanted to have the hosted provision as this ensured 'the latest' asbestos regulations as well as facilitating their requirement for 24/7 access. With this in mind the first issue was to import their ACM data from their old system and into the Toolkit CS system. A sample set was provided and the team at Ai Solutions ensured that the data was fully tested before the major extraction began. The main users of the system at Liverpool were provided access to the data to ensure it was fit for purpose.

As the team was small at Liverpool the training was done at the offices of Ai Solutions, this included System Administrator training as well as end user management. The Liverpool City Asbestos Portal was then made available for the external users so that they could assess ACM information 24/7, this negated the requirement for telephone calls to the Asbestos team should work need to be carried out.

Liverpool were up and running within 5 days and are pleased with the way the system was implemented. They are particularly happy with the support they have received and are happy that their initial aims were fulfilled. They are also now looking into having their Surveyors utilising the new mobile Surveying App that has been produced by Ai Solutions.

ToolKit CS Asbestos Management System successfully provides Liverpool City Council with an asbestos management system that has information that can be shared between all required parties.
