Many of us start 2024 with new aspirations and challenges. As always, the New Year is a chance to review our business processes and plan a way of moving forward constructively. For Ai Solutions, our aim is to continue to develop and enhance our product portfolio so that our customers get the absolute best for their investment.
During our review we realised that we had become too focused on social media (as wonderful as it is) to provide our customers and friends with industry news, product, and company updates. What we realised is we missed our newsletter, and here we are now. Whilst we endeavour to provide you with interesting content, if there is something you want to hear more about each month, please do not hesitate to give us a call on 01525 850080, we would love to talk to you.
So as we start 2024 together, the team at Ai Solutions would like to take this opportunity to wish all our customers and newsletter followers, a very happy and prosperous New Year!
2024 is another big year for the team at Ai Solutions as we embark on upgrading all our customers to the latest version of CDM ToolKit CS Cloud. This latest version of software has all the best features from our original ToolKit CS system plus a few new tweaks, and oh so much more! Additionally, it is based, as the title refers, on a cloud platform making it even more accessible to our userbase. We are very excited about moving our customer base over to this latest technology and we will be holding workshops to tell all our customers about its capabilities in the coming weeks.
If you would like to know more about CDM ToolKit CS Cloud, then please give a member of the team a call on 01525 850080 to arrange a session with them.
It is very interesting to see that there are still breaches under the CDM 2015 regulations and the HSE are not holding back on prosecutions. Two of the more recent companies to be prosecuted were Challenger Building Services Limited who were fined £30k, and 2 Counties Construction who were fined £12k. Both fines were for being in breach of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (No 13).
Newport City Council were fined £2m after a man died whilst repairing a road. The HSE found the council did not take all reasonably practical steps to avoid the tragedy, for more on this article visit IOSH.
The biggest names in construction will be available at Excel London (7-9 May). The construction industry is in major demand for new buildings and infrastructure opportunities so find out more and book your tickets at ukconstructionweek.com.
The HSE have produced guidance for workers on how to stay safe during the colder months. There is an approved code of practice that suggests the minimum temperature should normally be at least 16°C. However, if the work involves vigorous physical effort, the temperature should be at least 13°C. For more on this visit the HSE website.
Each month we ask one of our customer representatives to share their experiences with our software, services or training with our readers. This month's offering comes from Ian Walkling at Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC).
"As a professional I have been working within the Health and Safety industry for many years. Currently, at the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, we use the Ai Solutions ToolKit CS (Hosted) system to manage our CDM processes and CDM compliance. However, we are all looking forward to our transition to CDM ToolKit CS Cloud in early 2024. We are looking to achieve the 'Golden Thread of Information' for our building portfolio and we see CDM ToolKit CS Cloud as a mechanism to accomplish this.
"Having worked with the team at Ai Solutions for a few years now I can say that their support for us has been 'second to none' and the training we have been given has been excellent. Going forward into 2024, RBKC are looking forward to working with the team at Ai Solutions to aid and continuously improve CDM and Health and Safety in the borough."
