While we await the outcome of the changes in the CDM regulations, other Health and Safety legislation continues to be updated, including changes to RIDDOR and First Aid. Big Data continues to mystify organisations with the main question being "what is Big Data and what do we do with it?".
In this issue we look at Big Data, the Cloud and Management Systems to help clarify the issues so you can continue to do your job without being swamped with information! We also have information about the Health and Safety conference next year and something fun to do if you have a free moment!
Please email us if there is any issue you wish us to investigate in the world of Health and Safety for the next issue firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Team at Ai Solutions
There have been some tremendous improvements in the culture of software service provision for businesses in the UK over the past 6 years. Back in 2007 the bulk of our day-to-day computing work was carried out using physical applications installed on your desktop.
The internet and service provisioning technologies offered an intriguing and tangible scalability option. During this period businesses started to become aware and realise the potential this option had to offer.

With the emergence of Big Data, many companies have been able to embrace the swell in information that needs analysing. Others, due to lack of awareness or whatever reason, end up leaving the most valuable information at their disposal in the ether.
Understanding the merits of analysis is one way of overcoming any fears or concerns of dipping into this soup of data.
We have a date for our Health and Safety Conference next year at the RAF Club, London.
It will be on the 30th April, 2014! Details will go out early next year with more information. If you have been before you will know that there will be interesting speakers, a tasty lunch and a tour around the Club. The conference next year will also focus on networking so don't forget to bring lots of business cards.
We are hoping to have a User Forum early next year. All users will be invited and emails will be sent out as soon as a date has been set.
If you're online and fancy a break for 5 mins, here's an interesting trick: Type "conway's game of life" into a Google search and just sit back and wait...
(The Game of Life, otherwise known as Life, is a Cellular Automaton devised by the British mathematician John Horton Conway in 1970)
