Ai Solutions is holding a seminar on 'Asbestos the Hidden Killer' on February 23rd 2010 when you will have the opportunity to meet and question one of the HSE's top policy makers from Rose Court.
Ken Hill, from the Asbestos Policy Unit, will be presenting the HSE's update to these important new guidlines; MDHS 100 has just been republished (29 January 2010). The new publication is available from HSE books: HSG264 - ISBN: 9780717663859.
In addition we have a presentation from the East Riding of Yorkshire council on how they, as a duty holder, have promoted 'Asbestos Awareness' throughout their large portfolio of buildings, schools and colleges by utilising state of the art technology.
Ai Solutions will be promoting how best to manage the hidden killer to support the HSE's objectives for 2010. This is an excellent chance to find out about the changes taking place as well as an opportunity to network with like-minded professionals.
There is a small admin charge of £25 plus VAT for this event which includes a buffet lunch. Places are limited; to book your place give a member of the team a call on 01525 850 080.
Ai Solutions are delighted to announce a new Award, approved by Construction Sector Skills Council and awarded by Open University. The award is jointly provisioned with our partners Callsafe Services to support Clients, Designers and Principal Contractors in adhering to the CDM2007 regulations.
The new award;
If you are a CDM-C there are already recognised qualifications to support your competence role. However, for other CDM roles including the Client, Designer or Principal Contractor there is little accreditation to support or prove competence and this new award fills that gap.
We have worked with the Open University Awarding Body (OUAB) to provide a nationally recognised QCF Level 3 Award in Construction Design and Management Regulations 2007. This qualification is recognised by the national database of accredited qualifications and is unique in that it is the only CDM qualification for CDM management. If you are a Client, Designer or Principal Contractor this qualification is available to you. There are three units which, once passed, provide the required level to attain certification.
This certification process for CDM management competence supports the government adult learning initiative QCF. Tied in with Managing Information Across Partners (MIAP) where everyone will be provided with a 'unique learner number' (ULN) that holds an individual's training and competence records, like an 'on-line' CV. This will become a huge database of training and qualifications that, on request, can provide employers with up to date and accurate information about an individual's skills.
If you are a Client, competence management can be a real headache. Why not let us help you along the way? For sixteen staff it could cost you less than £500 per person. The award will ensure your staff have the required knowledge and qualifications to enable you - the Client - to meet your legal responsibilities for competence management under CDM2007.
To find out more about this new award please contact Nick Clay.
Ai Solutions is looking forward to their Annual Conference 2010, 'CDM and Asbestos: The Art of Compliance' which will be held on May 20th 2010 at the RAF Club, Piccadilly, London.
Throughout 2009 we were all affected in some way by the recession. So what has changed? As organisations we still have to comply with the Asbestos and CDM regulations, supporting the business goals along the way. But how can we do that effectively and save money in the long run? Well we believe there is a definite art to it. We have been working with some very well known organisations that do it very effectively indeed. So how do we do it? Well we would like to share our experiences with you.
We have an excellent set of speakers, as usual. We are pleased to have the HSE telling us about what is happening in their world with the Olympics not too far away and the aftermath of the recession.
Places at the conference will be limited so to reserve your place please either call a member of the team on 01525 850080 or go to Annual Conference 2010 for more details and booking arrangements.
