Formally an Assistant Director of the London Borough of Hounslow, he has joined our team to spearhead a new 2009 Ai Solutions initiative: CDM Working Together Across London. Fred is a chartered civil engineer, a member of APS, and has a very successful pedigree in Local Government at senior level. He has been instrumental in implementing effective CDM management and auditing across the London Borough of Hounslow.
Our 2009 initiative is about supporting those organisations who are prepared to break down barriers, share information and work together in the true spirit of the CDM 2007 regulations. Our major clients in London are already on this journey and continue to pull down the barriers of the traditional silo mentality; the key block to cost effective CDM Management.
The recessionary times we find ourselves in are prompting managers to delve deeper into achieving compliance and information management in the most cost effective way. The high cost of CDM currently includes the cost of people, IT infrastructure and file management to name but a few. CDM Working Together Across London provides a superb opportunity to share information and minimise costs whilst maximising effectiveness. This applies to the entire CDM process and the main outcome from this: the health & safety file.
We would welcome enquiries from organisations who are interested in this cost saving process.
It is questionable whether a CDM process without external auditing is fit for purpose for any organisation, particularly larger ones.
This is why Ai Solutions are now offering a new service in 2009; a CDM Compliance Audit. Based around our CDM Working Together Across London Initiative, we are offering to carry out an audit of your systems and processes to ascertain to what extent you comply with the CDM Regulations. We will make recommendations for change where appropriate.

As many of our clients will know, Shirley has been working towards her NEBOSH Construction Certificate. We are pleased to announce that she has passed with Credit. It means that she will be even better placed to advise support and train our CDM ToolKit™ customers.
This is the second consecutive year that Simon from Ai Solutions will be competing in a team of four in a 24 hour Winter Mountain Bike race in Strathpeffer, Scotland. It is known as the World's only 24 hour Winter Mountain Bike race with 17 hours of darkness, freezing temperatures, ice, some snow, and gale force winds, and will be taking place in January.
The team will be raising money for the RNLI, and having competed in two 24 hour races in 2008 alone, 2009 looks to be an even bigger success! If you would like to support the team and make a donation please go to http://www.justgiving.com/strathpuffer2009 . Any contribution is very much appreciated. Many thanks!
We regularly receive updates from our customers and contacts about changes to legislation, the latest rumours and so on. We try to be selective with what we pass on and acknowledge our sources as appropriate. If you have information of general interest in the Health & Safety, and particularly, CDM and Asbestos Management arena, then please let us know by e-mail if possible.
