This quiet country lane near us has recently received an unwelcome visitor and a calling card. The local authority rules for charging for waste disposal, and asbestos waste in particular, are obviously too harsh for at least one customer.
So how bad are things going to get before they improve? The new asbestos regulations require immense caution in these matters including disposal of asbestos. With more people dying from asbestos related diseases per year than from road traffic accidents, the government's new regulations seem apposite.
Meanwhile the 4 million or so duty holders are rushing around, are they, assembling their asbestos registers? Perhaps we should have a duty holder for our local lane as well. At least he or she will be able to see the stuff! Humbug, it's nearly Christmas.
Our new website is with us. A complete make-over, with improvements to both style and content, the new site is designed to serve our prospective customers as a pre-sales tool and existing customers as a support tool for all matters concerning the asbestos and CDM regulations.
The site is being introduced in phases with more features promised for next year. Your feedback on the current release would be welcome.
These are important building blocks for us all in establishing the professional links our customers require. They provide a link between the suppliers to achieve the consistent approach to compliance management that our customers are looking for.
This is advance notification of our plans to hold a seminar at the RAF Club, Piccadilly London on Tuesday 1st March 2005. Please make a note in your diary now. More details to follow as soon as we have confirmed them.
