Our first Construction Industry Seminar took place in Milton Keynes on 4th Oct. We had a full capacity audience who took an active interest in presentations from the HSE and our business partners including Mouchel Consulting, Casella Environmental Services, Pcubed Management Support Services and Callsafe Services. According to the feedback, the attendees said the event was ‘Really Excellent’, with ‘Good Practical Information’. ‘The concept of the half day overview worked well’. This was backed up with ‘good presentations, good speakers, and a good venue’. ‘We are looking forward to the next event’ on Thursday 4th April 2002. Please make a note in your diary!
We demonstrated at the event that the CDM ‘community’ we started in 1995 has expanded to include many areas of health & safety including asbestos and health & safety at work. In addition to providing a forum that attendees find helpful, we provide software products and services that help users manage their day to day health and safety functions too. We showed our new 2002 portfolio with integration into several other products including Microsoft Project. Copies of all the slide sets are available plus details of our partners on our web site https://www.aisolutions.co.uk.
We are supporting the HSE awareness campaign to pass on information about the new Asbestos Regulations. Their campaign starts in November and we will be delivering seminars based on their material at dates following that start.
We have 2 dates set aside for presentations and demonstrations about our own products and how they can help you meet the new CDM ACoP and Asbestos Regulations. These presentations are designed to meet the needs of individual organisations and to demonstrate how we can help you satisfy the HSE’s requirements to provide audited management systems for this vital safety area. Please let us know if you are interested in these dates.
We would like to do our part in publicising the forthcoming European Safety Week which starts on 15th October. Details can be found on the HSE's web site: http://uk.osha.eu.int/ew2001.stm.
HSE's Stephen Wright tells us that the new CDM ACoP will be available in November and be enforced from February 1st 2002. We are intending to update the Knowledgebase in our CDM ToolKit™ 2000 software to accommodate the changes. If you want to keep ahead of the regulations with your planning and management processes and include the new procedures, then this would be a good time to get your copy of our CDM software. We will update it with the new procedures as they become available.
We are planning an update to our CDM ToolKit™ 2000 product to include changes to the ACoP, Knowledge Base and other modifications. This will be distributed as Service Release 7 in December.
