Quality Issues

Surveys need to be carried out by personnel competent to identify and deal with items of asbestos. Anyone undertaking surveys or sampling should;

• Have appropriate training and experience
• Be able to demonstrate independence impartiality and integrity
• Have an adequate quality assurance procedure. Guidelines for such procedures are set out by the UKAS and BOHS

All surveying organisations should have and implement policies for quality control and quality assurance. Quality checks including re-inspection and corrective action should be carried out on work in progress. All the procedures of the survey organisation should be quality assured by carrying out audits of completed surveys.
