Chemicals (Hazard Information and Packaging for Supply) (Amendment) (No2) Regulations 1999

Legislation

The Chemicals (Hazard Information and Packaging for Supply) (Amendment) (No2) Regulations, known as CHIP 99 (2), came into force on January 1 2000. Suppliers of dangerous chemicals are required to comply with it by July 1 2000. The six month transitional period is to minimise the cost of the Regulations to suppliers by giving them time to make the necessary changes to labels and safety data sheets.

CHIP 99 (2) introduces a 5th edition of the Approved Supply List (ASL) and a 4th edition of the Approved Classification and Labelling Guide (ACLG).
