Asbestos (Licensing) Regulations 1983

These Regulations require a Health and Safety Executive (HSE) license to be obtained for work involving asbestos insulation or coatings. Employees must undergo statutory medical examinations.

These regulations have now been revoked by the Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR) 2012, with the licensing and notification requirements transferred into the new regulations.
