Risks

The likelihood of potential harm being realised. e.g. A bottle of bleach is taken from a shelf to be used. If it is dropped there are several associated risks such as splashes leading to burns, slipping on spilled bleach, or injuries from broken glass.

The extent of the risk depends on:

1. The likelihood of that harm occurring
2. The potential severity of that harm, ie of any resultant injury or adverse health effect; and
3. The people who might be affected by the hazard, ie the number or type of people who might be exposed.
