CDM (GB) Knowledge Base
The Planning Supervisor was one of four particular responsibilities for health & safety described in the CDM 1994 Regulations. (The others are Client, Designer and Principal Contractor).
The Planning Supervisor was appointed by the Client with specific responsibility to produce the Health & Safety Plan and the Health & Safety File.
The Planning Supervisor role was superseded by the CDM Co-ordinator in the 2007 Regulations and subsequently removed by the 2015 Regulations where the duties are now split between the Principal Designer and Principal Contractor.
