 can one Company act as a principal Contractor as well as a Principal designer in a design and built contract ?

Our company is the principal contractor for aa office building renovation project. we have our own Architecture department who prapared the complete designs for this renovation. now at the start of the construction, can our company being the principal contractor can also act as Principal designer as we have the required expertise. or we need to appoint a person ( inside our company or from outside) to act as Principal designer ?

As long as you can demonstrate that your organisation has the required competencies then why not?
