CDM Regulation Site Signs
Is there available from any of the Safety Sign Suppliers a CDM Pack of signs for a building site. Offering all the statutory signs required under the current regulations.
The question above was originally posed via our Ask A Guru feature and this response from 2005 was by either Dave Carr or Michael Stokes.
There are many packages of safety signs from suppliers for construction sites, but so far as we know none advertised as specific to a CDM site. This is reasonable as no specific signs are required to be posted due to CDM, except for the project notification.
Safety signs would have to be determined on a project/site basis to take account of the organisation of the management, the site itself and the risks occasioned from the work, essentially as a result of risk assessment and the specification of site rules.
These requirements are from the Construction (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1996, the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and other relevant legislation.
