Wolverhampton House Collapse
7 June 2013
A house in Wolverhampton partially collapsed after design and build contractors ignored the recognised procedures regarding party walls. The HSE said that the event could have been easily prevented and that "as an experienced builder they should have known better in the first place".
Will we be seeing more of these types of incident when the new CDM regulations come into force? There are rumours that domestic work will fall under CDM in the future, perhaps this will be a good thing. However we all have concerns about how the new regulations will be policed.
At Ai Solutions we can help you manage your CDM, from the instruction of a CDM-C through to document production as well as ensuring CDM Compliance; visit our web site www.aisolutions.co.uk for more information.
