3C's QCF Award in CDM Management
3C's Award in CDM management certified by the Open University, has many benefits to organisations and their employees. The course provides evidence of competent staff.

Recognised by the Construction industry, and developed initialy by Transport for London(TfL), having identified a gap in qualifications for other CDM appointed proffesionals. The award is available for all practitioners in the sector from Clients, Designers, Principal Contractors, Project and Facilities Managers. The award has been developed and is delivered in accordance with the new government training criteria, the qualifications and credit framework (QCF).
Like NVQ's, QCF credits are workplace based therefore the award is designed to reward those successful in managing CDM in the workplace.
The award is a 3 unit qualification (total of 3 QCF Credits) with a mandatory:
- CDM regulations overview unit
- CDM management system unit
- and a specialist unit chosen from a range of options specific to the individuals role
- Client, designer, principal contractor, project and facilities managers
The award provides a qualification in CDM showing competence in individuals specific area of responsibility as well as overall cdm regulations and management of the CDM process. Along with evidence of projects worked on provides Stage 1 and 2 competency requirments of regulation 4. Additionaly, the Designers module can be used as training evidence for entry to the Association for Project Safety Designers Register.
Learners embarking on this qualification will be provided with their Unique learner number (ULN) and successful completion of the course will have their results and cetification captued on the managing information across partners (MIAP) Learners record database, that organisations can access to view employees records.

In addition to managing the award processes, candidate organisations are taken through a training needs analysis to establish their needs for CDM Management assessments in their roles as

- project managers
- facilities managers
Each of these disciplines will require individual assessments in their role, in their CDM knowledge and in their use of appropriate management systems including (but not limited to) ToolKit CS™ if they have the product available to them. Courses are designed around the number of candidates required to pass the various elements outlined and delivered at a location convenient to the candidate organisation. Costs will vary according to the numbers of individuals scheduled for the individual sessions involved and these are designed around blocks of 8 candidates.
